Common questions

What's the difference between Friction and Hard Block?

Friction shows a pause screen when you open a monitored app during your risk hours. You can still get through by tapping Continue anyway, waiting a few seconds, and tapping it again.

Hard Block fully blocks monitored apps until your risk hours end, with no override. You can switch between the two modes any time in Settings.

Can Curfew see which apps I use?

No. You choose apps with Apple's Screen Time picker, which keeps your selection private to your device. Curfew only receives opaque identifiers from iOS, not app names. See Privacy for more.

Curfew isn't blocking anything. What should I check?

Open Curfew's Settings and make sure Screen Time access is turned on — the Home screen will tell you if it's off. Also check that you've selected at least one app and that the current time falls inside your risk hours.

If it still isn't working, email us with your iOS version and we'll help.

How are streaks counted?

Your streak is the number of nights in a row you got through your risk hours without opening a monitored app. Curfew also keeps your best streak.

How do I change my risk hours or apps?

Both can be changed any time from the Settings tab in Curfew.

Is Curfew available on Android?

Not yet — Curfew is iPhone-only for now.
